The important thing to realize is that Biden was not capable of ‘winning’ this debate in any scenario, just as it’s not possible for me to ‘win’ a game of chess when my opponent spends a hour grabbing the pieces from both sides and sticking them, individually, up into his bum.
Biden could have ‘lost’ the debate, however, and that didn’t happen.
Trump could have won the debate if he cracked Biden in some way, which didn’t happen, and it remains to be measured if he lost or simply forced a draw.
From a legitimately intelligent right leaning guy I work with:

Obviously we all know why, but seeing him shook about that can’t be a bad thing
Fox calling it a coin flip or draw very early spells damage control. They seemed like they wanted to get out ahead of it.
Feel like Biden performed at about expectation, but expectations were really low. Absolutely any of the democratic candidates would have performed better, maybe even just an average democratic politician would have.
Trump seemed to ramble and spurt out his bullshit maybe just a little more than normal. Its hard to tell how productive or damaging his performance would be because you can never really know what low-info voters actually believe. Like if objective facts didn’t matter at all, who won the debate? Probably Trump.
Trump can’t take being disputed for a single second at a debate. Imagine what he will do after being disputed by millions for 4 years.

The “Vote Him Out” tagline is good in that respect - not vote for Biden but get Trump out.
I agree and that speaks to Trump’s tactics, which were correct but unsuccessful. Trump’s whole aim was to disrupt and fluster Biden, to try to produce a viral moment that would convince people that Biden is unfit to be president. That’s what the constant interruptions were about. And it failed, I think Trump got nothing out of it. Sad!

A bunch of people are mad because Biden didn’t fit their debate fan fiction of an aggressive Democratic candidate dunking left and right on Trump.
Biden’s whole campaign is based around the idea that Trump is an avatar of chaos and that Biden is the opposite of that. The narrative that he wants to push is that he was resolute in the face of a storm. Did he accomplish that?
I get that’s not the story some people want to see, but it’s the one that we are getting. Given that, how should Biden operate?

Biden focus in debate #2 should be to play off the consensus from tonight. Create Twitter sound bites. “I know you’re discouraged, I know you’re sick of watching this man constantly spew lies… I beg you, though, show your frustration at the ballot box. You cannot sit this out or else you risk 4 more years of what you hate.”
