I don’t think they’d allow the filibuster to prevent passing the new voting rights act but maybe I’m a sweet summer child.
Correct me if there’s another way, but to do this you would need either:
A) 10 Rs to crossover to invoke cloture.
B) To eliminate the filibuster entirely.
How could they not allow it? Only money bills are eligible to not need 60 votes (through reconciliation).
The filibuster is just a Senate rule that can be changed or brought back with a simple majority vote. So yeah they could eliminate it entirely, or they could just hold a vote and say we are going to suspend it for this vote only.

I think the idea is the Manchin Or Feinstein or ? Will not vote because of…principles.
Need at least like 54 seats before nuking the filibuster is even a remote possibility.
If somehow magically they hold the house and pick up 3-4 seats in 2022 after years of obstructing I could MAYBE see then doing it.
Like 10% chance of this happening in our timeline

I decided to look up prior medal of freedom recipients and there are definitely a lot of others that are horrible but obviously that depends on your perspective and politics
Also holy shit Obama have out a lot of those, I’m surprised Trump didn’t try and pass him in that regard, his numbers are weak!
