A friend made a point last night I hadn’t really thought of before. The complete failure of the government over the past 4 years is going to really help the GOPs long term argument that government is bad at everything and should be “reduced to the size where it can be dragged it into the bathroom and drowned in the bathtub.”
Of course, like all things this wasn’t strategy on Trump’s behalf (because lol strategy) but I’m sure some republicans were thinking it sure is a useful side effect.
That’s how capitalism be. Find an area of human existence that hasn’t been 100% monetised and transactionalised. Break it. Complain about it being broken. Privatise it. Profit!
