I’m not for extreme protectionism either but that issue should be like lowering taxes. Rs always cut taxes when they have power, and Ds have to raise them back to reasonable levels and take the hit for it.
Let the Rs be the ones always cutting trade deals when they have power to please their donors.
2024 will be a great opportunity for them, but hopefully by 2028 the demos will have shifted enough. Although we’ve been saying “the demos!” for awhile and it hasn’t taken hold.
Could anyone really be a good president with only one term in congress?
That being said look I’m with you. I want her to get more experience before she hypothetically runs because it will only help. All I’m saying is every now and then time is right for the right candidate.
She could run a dead silent campaign until the first debate and then destroy the Republican incumbent so hard that she cruises to election and eight years
sure, i guess if gop nominates cotton for fuhrer, we don’t want to risk it and aoc should run and hope to crush the olds with a coalition of millennials/gen z/black/latino.
Before Tuesday I would have said not that high. Now, I’d say 75% chance Biden/whoeever loses in 2024. Dems completely incompetent and clearly won’t change. Trump cult somehow mobilised extra voters in 2020. Republican senate (unless taken in 2022 which despite the schedule still would be hard) fucking everything up (especially economy). Holding house in 2022 isn’t even a given at this rate. I’d be surprised if there is a Dem president after the next Republican one!
This, plus (or because) the GOP knows her potential and has been attaching her to Pelosi and radicalism etc since she was elected and they’re just getting started.
Obviously I think she has the talent to mitigate a lot of this.
