Of all the terrible ideas commonly held by Boomers classifying thinking along a positive/negative axis with positive thoughts being good and negative thoughts being bad has to be near the top. The ways that warps your perceptions of reality and gets you to ignore problems is something else.
It’s like ‘don’t look a gift horse in the mouth’ on crack. That, it needs to be said, is also terrible advice. There is never a better time to be careful than when something is too good to be true. That shit is a trap 90% of the goddamn time. Every scam known to man baits the hook with something too good to be true.
