Same as pvn re: beer. A dive bar is exactly where I’m most likely to get a high life or something along those lines. Otherwise probably bulliet neat.

Well, I guess I’ve never been to a dive bar.
My idea of a dive bar doesn’t have Bulleit. It has Wild Turkey, if I’m lucky.
My go to order is a beer and a jack neat/shot

Probably a fair point. Seems like everywhere has bulliet these days, though.
Don’t really do “dive bars”, but house margarita.

I haven’t had a beer all year but my local dive bar spot order’s a Heineken bottle and shot of Jameson’s.
Or a double whiskey/ginger. Don’t have to ask for double, as it’s just their standard.

IMO dive bars can still carry good liquor. The owners just never do any upkeep other than the bare minimum and it usually smells now that smoking in bars is illegal which used to cover it up with cancer. Also, you can walk in at happy hour and thank god you aren’t any of the people there and realize your life isn’t that bad.

V hipster name. So much so, I almost didn’t buy it. Almost. The taste of the beer makes up for its stupid name.

It seems like every new craft beer that makes it to my area is like $18+ for a 4-pack. I feel like this wasnt the case a year or two ago

I was saying this to my friends recently. A brewery near me released a sour for $22.99/4 pack last week.
Whatever you do, don’t start exploring wine.
The 4-pack of the beer in my photo cost $22.20!

I haven’t noticed any noticeable increase in beer prices. Heady Topper and Sip of Sunshine still sub-$15 at both the beer store and the supermarket near me.
It was 18 here and i was surprised its that cheap.
I paid $10 for a my only Heady at Soldier Field Dead lot in 2015. I thought that was overpriced but a guy next to me said to grab it while I can as he bought 3 so I grabbed one. It was good but like 95 degrees out that day so not maximum enjoyment.
Also saw a porta potty overflowing the seat. 4 of us puked from that.
