Beto lost, but iirc, his presence had a huge impact on down ballot races. I think that aspect of the fundraising for candidates in relatively red strongholds is one that is often overlooked in the discussions around here. Most of us understand that we really need to chip away at the R control of state-level governance in order to make progress on a ton of issues. I think finding and funding charismatic, well-liked Dems who may be a long-shot to unseat entrenched R senators is not a complete waste of money like many here seem to think.

Only skimmed it, but basically: deregulated generator co’s get caught out by their own lack of emergency preparedness, so they both dodge system breakdown thru excess demand and also bigly profited by massively jacking electricity price during winter emergency. Utility retailer middlemen companies scramble and pass the bill onto the individual end consumers.

he’s going from an image where he’s never done anything wrong, to a political forum where it’s impossible to make any decision without angering someone. i sincerely hope he stays away, although he’s probably being groomed by some republican donors to go up against beto, and it will be hard to say no.
