I currently walk about 30 feet from house to car and another 30 from car to office, in Seattle, so I’m trying to see how long I can go before wearing a jacket.

Nobody knows for sure so we can’t do anything until we know everything.
That’s one of the key forms of bullshit Jon Stewart laid out in his epic final monologue on bullshit.
Yup, that is pretty much the battle cry of the status quo. That and if something isn’t going to 100% effective we shouldn’t do it because the problem will still exist.
