When I buy one item at Publix and the bagger asks if he can carry it to the car for me. I also hate the fake concernedness of the cashiers. āDid you find everything you were looking for?ā as I hand over exact change for my Gatorade on the way to the gym.
Pretty sure both of those are just corporate training more than the check out person being a jerk, the former to be sensitive to the elderly and disabled who may need and appreciate the help but donāt like being singled out, and the latter because doing it all the time makes people buy more.

Yeah Iāve read about the zipper merge before. I pretty much always let people in and make room for them if the lane is coming to an abrupt end.
The scenario Iām talking about is two lanes merging into one. Everyone gets over by the time the lanes are becoming one lane. Some people will keep going and ride the side and be half in the emergency lane trying to get ahead of everyone. Thats who I was going back out to block.
Also I was doing that one night. I see a big SUV barreling down the emergency lane towards the freeway exit we were all trying to get off. I was like fuck this guy, and pull out to block him.
Dude fucking threw on the sirens and honked lol. It was a police SUV. I flew ass back into the lane and he was on his merry way. Havenāt done it since.

the bossā youngest son came on board at the company recently. idk what he actually does but he literally slept at his desk for 2 hrs yesterday, woke up and went to lunch. Not a single person other than I noticed and thereās six of us in the office. And it wasnāt like constanza under the desk, he was just sitting there snoozing head slightly askew

Grocery baggers that use six bags when three would suffice.
There are a lot of people that complain about jamming too much stuff, incompatible stuff, etc. in the same bags.
The store I worked at back in the day hired a ton of special needs folks as baggers, one of them was famous for putting like 6 2-liter bottles of soda or something similarly crazy in one bag. He was always super apologetic about it and explained he just keeps going until itās too heavy for him, everyone has a good laugh and he fixes it. Then goes and does the same exact thing with the next customer.

I canāt imagine letting a family member do that at my business. The morale impact would be real af and what are they learning from getting away with this exactly? Seems worse than letting them get an allowance for sitting at home playing video games honestly.
I mean the reason most business owners hire family is that they can work them like a rented mule without paying them accordingly lol. If youāre going to make someone work unpaid overtime, do quasi dangerous stuff that probably should get reported to OSHA, and generally treat someone like an indentured servant itās way less risky to do it to family.

Iām for the zipper merge. Just saying I know there are people like my dad who are a significant % of drivers on the road that will aggressively block / tailgate / follow people trying to one-up him as he sees it. Like, even when heās a PASSENGER IN MY CAR, he goes fucking berzerk if I let someone merge.
