I mean yeah force closure on shitty businesses like that.
But like Microbet said, closing down 95% of businesses, possibly for months, would kill way more people than Covid-19. I say that as someone who takes care of their mother who is pretty likely to be killed from this.

Not sure I agree with that. I believe most of the studies suggest that many of the extra deaths that come about during recessions are due to lack of access to healthcare. I have no doubt that uncontrolled transmission of this virus will limit access to healthcare much more severely than any recession.

A huge percentage of commercial real estate in this country is financed with non recourse mortgages, meaning the borrowers can turn over the keys and walk away at any time. As this thing evolves, you’re going to see massive defaults in retail, office, hospitality, and possibly apartments. Which will result in massive losses for banks, life insurance companies, Fannie/Freddie (and hence the government), and CMBS holders. Oh, and tax collections will plummet at the worst possible time. Nobody will develop anything, with huge employment consequences. And a bunch of other bad stuff.
That’s just commercial real estate.
This is going to be a total economic meltdown.

first they said i should stay inside my house. a house that i love. i’ve been filling it with nice furniture and entertainment stuff and art for years.
then they said don’t go to work, but they’ll still pay me in full to do a 1-hour twitch stream a week.
THEN they tell me the government is going to pay me $1200 for nothing
all this AND millions of boomers likely won’t live long enough to vote in november.
this is like 5 or 6 dreams all coming true at once

All guesswork, but here goes.
Just based on population numbers and travelers visiting the area, I’d think LV would be somewhere I’d really be nervous to be at present - I’d take the 2 weeks with the idea that in 2 weeks maybe everything is shut down by then.
N Nev. so far not too bad as far as we can tell - and in N Nev testing is FINALLY starting to ramp up per UNR. So if you felt comfortable maybe wait for another week and reassess.
Or not - wild guess at best.

GameStop is literally breathing their last breath. Corona virus is going to finish the company off and their officers are willing to kill their employees to delay the inevitable.
GameStop provides zero useful services that require going into a brick and mortar store outside of buying selling used games and lol at that.
