One voted for it. The compromise rule isn’t about pm’s anyway. It’s just about giving the mods a reasonable amount of time to respond to a reported post before starting a bitch.
I think you should have to create what you think the OP of that poll thread should look like so that the admin can cut and paste without having to do additional work.

Admin account only gets logged in to periodically, best way is to @ me directly but be wary these threads are really pissing me off.
I don’t want to make more work for you, i’ll come up with proposed verbiage and send it to you. Given the latest blow up, (which I would point out has absolutely nothign to do with me although I’m sure someone will be by to point out how actually it is all my fault), I really do think it’s important we do something to cut down on this tri-weekly stuff.

The second proposed rule wouldn’t even have any relevance to today’s situation, where people were complaining about Wookie’s action. The proposed rule was a waiting period before you can complain about moderator inaction, not moderator action.

I get that it won’t solve every problem, but it’s a start to cut down on some of this. The main rule obviously in my opinion is better, but it’s currently a slight dog.
I guess I just don’t see what the issue is. Someone complains a mod didn’t do a thing or did do a thing. Who cares? If most people agree that the mod was in the wrong they can learn about how the community wants to be modded. If most people disagree and think the mod was right, everyone can tell the complainer to settle down. What’s the big fuckin deal?

The big fucking deal is that a not insignificant portion of the forum traffic is now people bitching about moderation and it is spilling over into casual users who are getting pissed. In the main ATF thread now there is literally someone who doesn’t even know who Jalfrezi is complaining about how the stupid drama is drowning everything out. The bitching needs to get reigned in.
Edit: To put a finer point on it, tomorrow when a certain poster’s ban is up, that thread is absoutley going to blow up and likely have to get put in slow mode. This shit is happening now multiple times a week. It’s spilling into other threads. Lol, the football thread? Like it’s everywhere throughout the forum. Any rules that can be put in place to reduce it at this point are a good thing.
Meh, it’s 50-100 posts every few days. This is part of community modding, imo.

I think that estimate is on the low side.
Most of the bitching seems to be people who are bitching about other people making a suggestion or complaint or post in the moderation thread. Maybe the people who complain about other people making a comment/suggestion/complaint in the mod thread should stop doing that.

With few exceptions it is the same 4 or 5 people complaining about the same mod every time the same poster gets banned for making an obvious personal attack. Meanwhile, plenty of other posters from the other “side” including me get banned all the time and nobody breaks out the torches, because lol it’s a 24 hour tempban and we’re adults.
Listen, I also think another obvious solution is to have the bitching about moderation thread be in the French BBV so it doesn’t jump to the top of the average forum-users feed. That suggestion I made was extremely unpopular though.
There are about 3300 posts in the About Moderation thread since January 1. That’s the same as 100 posts every 3.36 days. If we estimate 1000 posts spread out across other threads, that’s 100 posts every 2.58 days.
I’d say you’re off by an order of magnitude here. There are 150 posts in this thread alone.
I also made a mistake in that there are more like 2300 posts in About Moderation since January 1.
Yeah but that doesn’t change the order of magnitude thing. Almost all of ATF is this shit. A huge chunk of French BBV is shit that got moved there as well. It’s definitely in the tens of thousands since January 1st.
