RFC: A rule requiring pms to moderators before posting complaints.

I said I put it on mute. I did. Wookie asked me a direct question though, so I answered. Then you starting being an asshole, so I responded to you. How about you shut up and then I won’t interact with you?

Nah.

Figures. You can’t drop anything. So god damned transparent. 11hours ago Jalfrezi posts

Leftist wishing harm to another poster = temp ban
Centrist ditto = crickets

Sounds about right

And 11hrs ago you start this thread. You’re just lucky few people pay enough attention or you’d have absolutely no credibility with anyone.

I mean, I never denied that this thread was started in response to the exchange about boredsocial 11 hours ago, but good job with your junior detective skills. It is also the case that I did not mention, reply to, or target jalfrezi. It’s not my fault he jumps into every single moderation action or inaction.

That was so clever when you didn’t say his name. Man you’re tricky.

Your obsession with he and I is fascinating.

You were not responding to cassette’s post of:

Way over the top. Temp ban please.

That’s BS. Your OP here is: “b*tch about moderation”. No one else complained about moderation before you started this thread. Again, you’re just lucky there’s a reservoir of people who don’t pay enough attention to know that you are lying all the time.

Have you considered the possibility that you are wrong?

Like one in ten thousand? It’s not impossible. The evidence here is about as strong as the last thing we argued about via PM, though I’m not sure you even realize yet that you were wrong about that.

Ok, good talk then. Anyway, back to the RFC.

I did, and I appreciate your reply. I think the fact that Chads even being caught in the crossfire from the usual complainers for the unforgivable sin of not being online at the time is pretty strong evidence against your claim that fresh mods would be a sufficient condition for reducing complaints.

You are absolutely on the wrong team here micro. Jal is 97% responsible for all this nonsense for months now, wookie is 1% responsible, Jman is 1% responsible and a bunch of other people share the last 1%.

Yep

Bumping this as, the initial RFC appears to be just shy of majority support, but @spidercrab’s compromise of a rule wherein posters must wait a set amount of time after reporting a post (or after a post is reported I suppose) before launching a complaint thread or post against a moderator or moderators is currently polling at 82 percent. Granted, this does not have as much participation because it is buried mid-thread. Shall I start a new thread where this poll is at the top?

As it has now been more than 3 days, per the RFC rulemaking process detailed here:

I am now requesting an @admin create a poll per this rule codifying @spidercrab’s compromise rule. That is, that users must be required to wait a set amount of time after reporting a post or after messaging a moderator before creating a complaint thread or posting a complaint in ATF or any other thread. The straw poll created on spidercrab’s proposal in this thread already achieved 82 percent approval.

Thank You.

This is inaccurate.

The poll your claiming has 82% approval has actually only 60%. And most importantly it’s buried down on post 33 and has less than half the participation than the poll in the OP, which failed to get over 50% of the vote.

You want to ignore the main poll which has more than double the level of participation? And proceed on a poll that has 15 voters, lol. Come on man.

The main poll asked a different question. This was the compromise question. Anyway, this second level is not binding yet, it’s yet another pole, but it needs to be created by an admin. If it fails to get majority support it does not go forward. I’m just following the RFC process. I’m just working towards trying to solve this issue before the next inevitable dramabomb attack. If the next poll fails to obtain majority support, so be it. I’m sure we’ll all enjoy the next time this all blows up.

How about instead of impugning my motives you participate in the discussion in a constructive matter. The constant weekly attacks on the moderation staff by a select few who disagree with them because they don’t immediately ban who they want banned and the ensuing dramawars is not constructive for the forum. I have suggested a modest solution. Feel free to suggest another solution and start your own RFC or tag onto this one if you have a better solution.

Bump.

Have any mods say that want this? That’s going to be a lot of PMs.
