Like a lot of American culture, its all bullshit. Big performative stuff like flying across the country for Thanksgiving during Covid because “family is everything”, while simultaneously trying to fuck over siblings so they don’t get any of the inheritance.

To put it into perspective, it’s far from uniquely American.
Far right economies/cultures where the rights of the individual take precedence over everything (and famously here “there’s no such thing as society”) inevitably end up with family members fucking each other over.

Sure, no argument here. I do think that as we sit here in 2021 this is particularly true of America. Alot of Western culture has been hollowed out by late 20th century neoliberalism in all its forms, and the US is ground zero for that.

I’m watching “inside the qanon conspiracy” on cnn and they don’t really spend much time mentioning that whoever is behind the Q account is completely fucking with people and Qanon is being promoted by grifters who also don’t believe in this shit?
Like I gotta believe that most people involved with pushing 9/11 conspiracies really do believe the government did 9/11 but everyone with something to gain from Q is completely bullshitting people.

There’s an arrow pointing to the “arrests” that’s in between “Trump” and “Won” so my theory is the that’s supposed to be read as “Trump Won, Now arrests” but that might be giving him entirely too much credit.
