POTUS BOWL 2020: A MEME IS A WISH YOUR <3 MAKES

To be fair, the California Democratic party goes the wrong way on props a fair bit of the time.

That’s a quality shop sir! golfclap.gif

There are Trump supporters living with fantasy that the polls were wrong just like 2016 and Trump will pull out a surprise. Ignoring that the polls weren’t that far off in 2016 and that the numbers are worse for Trump this time around, I am reminded of the Michigan primaries. Sanders supporters were adamant that another miracle was in the works and the polls were going to be as spectacularly wrong as they were in 2016, but they weren’t. Trumpers are in for the same level of disappointment and the more enthusiastic are going to crash worse than the most disillusioned Bernie bros.

Every, and i mean every trumper i know thinks this, even people who are voting Dem now but are uninformed in general think this is likely true.

edit: most trumpers just think that polls can’t be trusted whatsoever, not for elections, not for how people feel about political issues like ACA etc, nothing. In their world there is no way to measure these things but they know in their head that the majority of americans agree with them.

Wow. Someone needs to poll NE-1 & NE overall. NE-1 at least could be in play.

WTF are they doing on this issue. I don’t think it moves the needle, but this question is not going to go away, and you need to prepare a better answer. “I don’t know” can even be a legitimate answer, and is much better than what they’re doing.

“I have such great respect for the co equal branch of judiciary, and SCOTUS has not been enlarged in 100+ years. But what has also has not happened in our history is the degree to which one party has hijacked the judiciary the way Republicans have in order to legislate their unpopular and unAmerican agenda from the bench. Stealing Supreme Court seats and installing wholly unqualified judges. The founders are rolling over in their graves. So I grapple with those two competing truths, and I just don’t know.”

You’re definitely wrong about that. ~20% of the population thinks the Supreme Court is the single most important thing they are voting for in presidential elections… and most of those people are on the other side.

Let them tell themselves that if Trump loses they’ll have a 6-3 court so it won’t be that bad so that they can secretly vote Biden and justify it to themselves.

We’re either going to do it or we’re not, but talking about it is bad politically.

If someone’s #1 issue is SCOTUS and they are a Trump voter, I don’t see a world where they vote for Biden. They are the base.

Obviously the same could be said for anyone on our side who wants the court packed no?

I think it’s tough to overstate how hard it’s going to be to pull the lever for Trump as someone who thinks of themselves as a good person in 3 weeks. This is not trending in a good direction, and I don’t see it improving honestly.

I’m not saying they should answer it yes or no. I’m saying find a competent way to dodge it, that sounds reasonable and actually makes the question go away.

I would just say we’re not going to pack the courts and then pack the fuck out of them.

This is the correct answer.
