Conflating a high school understanding of “the economy” with trickle down economics then using that to derive a conspiracy theory is pretty dishonest.
So Kentucky government just passed a bill allowing for “historical horse racing”.
Now here is a site that at the top of the page is a link to the page “help keep HHR in kentucky”…
https://redmileky.com/gaming/featured-games
For fuck sake just look at that page. Casino gambling is illegal in Kentucky. Sports betting is illegal in Kentucky. Slot machines, that use “historical horse races” to determine the RNG is fine though. Just lol.
I’m sure you know about these things, but:

WaPo OpEd by Michael Hudson
At some point maybe this will happen via computer attacks, though I expect the banks and businesses keep track of debts more securely than they keep track of our passwords.
What conspiracy theory do you beleive I’ve advanced?
I feel I’ve made two points:
-
Our economic system is designed to transfer wealth from the bottom to the top.
-
Debt and debt service are a method of doing so.
I feel like maybe you’re saying that you beleive either point #1 or #2(or both)is a conspiracy theory? If so, let me know. Then we’ve found our point of disagreement.
yes because he was a real estate speculator, he uses it in his pitch to not do that because he sells well, the opposite of that as a service
of course if he never did declare it he wouldn’t be rich as fuck today
He is the author of And Forgive Them Their Debts. It’s about the history of debt, and debt cancellation. I’ve heard Hudson interviewed about it, but haven’t read it.
Also supermarket prices, where having the means and storage space to buy in bulk gets you discounts when you wait for special offers.
If there’s no sharpie I don’t trust it
Isn’t the best example exclusionary zoning policies that keep low-income people far away from higher-paying jobs?
this is like a year old at least
the best comment on this was from my commune alumni group, “as soon as I read that headline I knew it would be in Cullman”
Cullman is the Florida of Alabama
It’s kind of depressing realizing Chappelle has always been punching down. Like, this shit is horrifically racist. Not in an ironic way.
Well yea, it would have to be, but I had never seen it. The amount of contempt in that picture is unreal. I had to look it up because I couldnt believe it was real
I wouldn’t say that sketch is punching down. You also have to remember in a time before podcasts or any leftist media, Chappelle and Stewart were as strong as Bush critics as we had at the time!
I don’t know how being a Bush critic is an excuse for a sketch about how if we give black people reparations they’ll spend it at the liquor store, on cigarettes, and on fried chicken. But maybe that’s just me, idk.
I think the sketch is lampooning what White people think will happen if the US pays reparations.
