Yup. I assume that owning Android phones (especially middle tier devices) is more cost-effective than owning Apple phones, even if the Androids need to be replaced sooner.
I was just humblebragging to my wife (iPhone user) that I had left my S10e unplugged for a second consecutive day, and was now down to 66% battery left.
She and the kids have been through like 15 charging cables each over the past n years, buying them in multipacks, and then breaking them. Meanwhile, when I upgraded from the S7 to S10, I probably had 5 random USB cables that worked with the S7, none of which I had to buy.
On the /usr/local/bin thing, yeah Apple routinely fucks over developers for no reason. They did something so that brew was freaking out after an OS upgrade. The other horrible thing was openssl support being dropped. The Win 10 WSL experience is better, and you can also just afford a machine with 32 or 64 GB of RAM and run Docker without any worries.
I bought Macbook Airs for personal use because of a consulting gig, and to hand off to the kids, but I think when this one dies, I’ll get a Surface, or at least something with a touch screen.
True story: I was just at Costco a few hours ago and they were selling MyPillow products. They had one of those tables set up with a dude pimping them.
bump, almost got one today, we got surprised by a dog that came out of nowhere out of the woods. Dog made a beeline for us and my dog was super apprehensive but both dogs were pretty well behaved, just sniffing each other’s butts, until the human (finally emerged) from the trail, at which point the other dog got more defensive and some growling started.
I yelled “there’s a leash law” at the woman (50ish, white), and sure enough, she gave me some baloney about “my dog doesn’t need one” yada yada, I am pretty sure I dropped an F bomb but not 100% sure.
