I made another attempt at an election distraction thread. Election distraction take 2: How are you staying sane?

Sanity is overrated.

LOL took me a few seconds. Amazing.

Actually got the stone head before the costume, weirdly.

I just want to say that while I appreciate the intelligence of the discourse around here, I think I appreciate the collective dorky sense of humor better. The number of times I’ve chuckled IRL while scrolling through some thread here followed by the inevitable “what’s so funny?” question and deciding that it’s not even worth explaining is innumerable.

  • Two payments totaling $1.1 million to Favre Enterprises, the company for NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre, who lives in Mississippi. The money paid for three speaking engagements, one radio appearance and one keynote address. The audit says “a cursory review” found that Favre did not attend any of these events. (Favre is not accused of any criminal wrongdoing in the report, which notes that receipts of the welfare funds may not have known where the money came from. CBS News has reached out to Favre’s agent for comment.)

Motherfuckers. Hey Brett, here’s $1M for doing nothing, cool?

There is a very non-zero chance this $1M was to say he voted Trump - presumably for a bump in Wisconsin. JFC someone needs to get to the bottom of this.

I talked with a friend about the Kamala Harris 60 minutes interview which he watched but I didn’t. During that interview she talked about „lived experience“ and we disagreed what that meant and what it implies.
Does anyone have a good explanation of the term, preferably citable?

The main point of contention was if lived experience can be substituted through other means.
