National Basketball Association - 2024/2025 Season

no cure found for Philadelphia

Banchero has 37 points at half time

I won’t post it here but if you’re into watching disturbing sports injury, Taylor Hendricks of the Jazz just had one of the freakiest gruesome injuries i’ve seen.

I saw that live and it was grotesque. You could see him holding his leg up by his hamstring and the rest of the leg dangling at a weird angle. The mavs broadcast chose not to replay it.

Apparently he broke his fibula and tore up his ankle as well. Wishing him a full recovery. There was tracking on klay and he was really upset by the whole thing. (Most of the players were visibly upset it’s just klay having gone through a similar injury that seemed to impact him).

Anthony Edward’s has 24 points in first quarter vs mavs w .45 left.

He must have 7 threes. He has been unconscious.

Then he sat for the first 8 or 9 mins of the 2nd, suspect

Yeah. He only took one shot in second quarter.

He subbed out between quarters and came back with 6:56 left, so he took a five-minute break.

Awesome game. Luka’s dagger with a minute left was cold blooded.

Why are the bucks so pathetic?

Giannis played 33 minutes today and finished with 0 +/-.
Lillard played 33 minutes today and finished with -29.
Impressive stuff by dame.

Also Wemby got his 2nd 5x5 game. 25 points, 9 rbs, 7 asts, 5 stls, 5 blks. He’s the only player in the last 5 years to achieve it even once. Became the first multi 5x5 game player since Andrei Kirilenko.

Doc Rivers.

There used to be some posters here who told me Jon Horst was a genius and one of the best GMs in the game.

Giannis/Dame could still work, but I think it requires Giannis turning back into a defensive wrecking ball, and he hasn’t been that for a while now.

There are a lot of problems with the Bucks, but I think the biggest two are:

  1. Even with the offseason moves, they have no point-of-attack defense on the perimeter. Guards just abuse them.

  2. Giannis and Dame both need the ball in their hands and the coaching staff hasn’t figured out how to make it work. Leads to stagnant offense. They are both great with the ball, of course (Dame less so - he’s clearly declining), but there is a lot of standing around and watching with this team. Compare that to say, the Celtics or Memphis last night, who move the ball really well.

In my opinion, they need Dame to handle the ball and Giannis to be fed the ball on the move or at least already in the post. Make life miserable for defenders, rather than allowing them to set their defensive ground.

It doesn’t help that they’ve shot terribly from three. Fix that discrepancy and the other weaknesses are covered up.

zero misses and no turnovers for Bronny today
