So, a ton of great players coming back next year after being hurt last season.

Anyone care to rank how they think these guys will do next year?

Zion
Kawhii
Jamal Murray
Ben Simmons
Lillard

Zion
Dame
Kawhii
Murray
Simmons

Will be interesting to see how Kawhi looks next year. Seems like people still seem to think he will look like prime Kawhi, which would be the best player on the list by far.

I know guys have been coming back from injury at lot better than ever recently, but my god the dude has so many injuries eventually they will have to add up and he will not be the same player. Theyā€™re all lower body injuries too, his knees and ankles are held together by duct tape at this point. He might be the best player on the list or 2nd to last ahead of Simmons. We shall see.

The little bit Zion played he averaged like 27 ppg on 66% TS which is freaking insane. If he can stay healthy his potential is crazy. I can see the pels be a top 3 team in the west next year if healthy easy and could be competing for rings really soon.

Apparently the Celtics are making a big push for durant. Iā€™m not sure how Iā€™m supposed to root for them if he gets traded to us

Yeah seems super risky. Obviously Iā€™m a spoiled ass warriors fan but Iā€™d much rather keep the home grown super young immensely talented line up than to sell that for probably a 2 year window with KD. They Jays are both going to just keep getting better and they already added pieces that will help them improve their weaknesses.

Also people seem to forget KD hasnā€™t had a healthy deep playoff run since 2017. He was injured in 2018 & 2019 and if not for that GSW team being most stacked ever they donā€™t make it to the finals either year with him missing so many games.

Playoffs are grueling, and there are some players who just never make it through all the way healthy as they age, and I think theres a decent chance KD is one of those players now. Tall players tend to have a lot more injuries later in their careers as well.

Well that and heā€™s a chode

Completely agree. Having shitheads on your team sucks. Dray has become more and more annoying with his hot takes on his podcast too.

Lots of fans would root for any player if he helps them win, but Iā€™m definitely not a fan of it.

With Draymond, itā€™s whatever because heā€™s like third or fourth banana. I found it easy to root against Antonio Brown the two weeks he was with the Patriots because as good as he was, he wasnā€™t integral to their success.

But Durant will be the guy if he comes here. You canā€™t root against him and root for the team he plays for

Is there any real evidence that the trade talk rumors are legit? I find it nearly impossible to believe.

The people reporting are legit and doubt they are making it up. Sources may be exaggerating Bostonā€™s interest, but Iā€™m sure there have at least been discussions.

It also does make sense for Boston. Durant is a big upgrade - although not sure heā€™s worth losing lots of picks and role players as well as Brown.

Durant is great but man, asking stuff like Barnes+Trent+2-4 firsts or Jaylen, Smart, 2+ picks is so much.

I mean they legit gave up their entire future for the next 5 years to build a team KD wanted, got the coach he wanted, then immediately after signing a 4 year max extension the dude wants out.

They donā€™t have any of their own picks for 5 years, so even if they suck and tank there will be zero benefit. I donā€™t really blame them for thinking either we recoup our future or you are staying. KD is locked up for 4 years and is 34, zero chance he sits out a year and refuses to play.

Similar to Kobe wanting out from LA, they had him locked up for awhile so he ended up staying. Big difference between that and disgruntled stars who got 1 year left so they can realistically threaten to sit out that 1 year and then leave for nothing.

Oh I absolutely donā€™t blame Brooklyn for asking for a lot. Goebert was 4 picks and some decent role players. But itā€™s such a risk for the other team as you say

Lazy writing on my part.

I just think itā€™s a bad idea with lots of hidden -ev facets. If Iā€™m coach, Iā€™m definitely feeling out the vibe from the players.

295 seems to be a pretty low bar to stay clear of.
