It’s more that this GSW team is undersized and less athletic than most teams, including Memphis

GSW probably the favorites to ring, another for Steph would be cool but this team is a lot worse than any of their prior finals teams

Warriors are the heavy favorites to title at this point. Looking back on it, this was pretty much an eventuality once Middleton got injured in the first round.

If he ships it will kind of feel like Peyton Manning getting a second ring to add to his legacy. It’s true that he did win a second ring, but it was mostly him in the right place at the right time.

Steph’s won’t be that bad. But his performance in these playoffs hasn’t really been that of a t10 all time player, so it’s a bit wrong for it to add to his legacy. But you are right that it will. That’s just how it works.

I think that’s a bit of a harsh comparison. Steph was still a top 10 player in the league this year. Was he helped by having a great supporting cast? Absolutely. But he’s not being carried to a 4th title the way Peyton was carried to a 2nd ring.
