Celtics D is certainly excellent, but the Bucks have nobody that can create a shot. Allen, Pat, Hill, and Matthews are all just stand at the three point line guys. Bobby is a three point shooter and mid range guy, but he’s not going to put the ball on the floor and get himself open (and he’s been really tentative this series). Brook called Slowpez for a reason and has yet to assert any sort of dominance against a smaller team.
Really, if you want to boil it down to something really simple, the Bucks just haven’t made their three pointers this series. And in the losses, they haven’t even taken that many.
As I said the other day, it’s pretty amazing that this series was really close to being 3-1 Bucks. Missing Middleton has hurt a lot more than expected.
I really don’t get why Giannis is taking these 3 pointers. Dude is 2/18 in the series and is just not a good shooter. Celtics are super happy when he does that.
It’s tricky with him. Against smaller teams, he can absolutely destroy. But as good as he is as a low post defender, he is often a liability on defense, depending on the matchups and opponent’s offensive gameplan. So sometimes he has to sit most of the game because his weakness on defense in those situations is greater than his strength on offense (also, has he even made a three this series?).
Well, that is what I’m saying, nothing Bud can really do. Celtics D is great and rest of your dudes suck relatively. Only prescription is even MOAR GIANNIS! and hope he turns in an all-time great series, which is within the realm of possibility.
By the way, am I the only one who thinks goaltending should only be if the ball is in the imaginary cylinder above the rim? I think blocks should be allowed if the ball is coming down, but still two feet away from the basket.
