National Basketball Association - 2022/23 Season (Part 1)

the bucks definitely tried to play the bulls

yeah when they were up 3-0 it’s like only doc rivers could blow this, then embiid has a thumb injury and I still didn’t think to bet raptors in 7 at whatever that would’ve been. 50x?

Which is why they went out and beat the Celtics while playing all their starters in the 3rd to last game of the season?

this doesn’t make much sense because they tanked the last game to get the 3 seed and could’ve gotten the 4 without trying to win that one, twas a 3 way tie at the end

And this is with FVV, Barnes missing multiple games. Trent and Thad Young have been playing hurt or missed games too.

Just can’t lose a close out game at home to a team who doesn’t have a PG, so they’re playing their PF rookie as a PG because their backup is lol malachi flynn

they’re better off without FVV right now, he’s hurt and slow

True, but a healthy FVV gives them a lot more shooting. Better defense without him but the half court offense is uglier.

You’re putting your own personal narrative on it claiming they sat their starters the last game to avoid the Nets, when it’s literally what they do going into the playoffs every season. They could have still ended up facing the Nets first round even losing the last game.

I think at that point the four seed was still a possibility? I could be wrong.

I definitely think the Bucks purposely avoided the Nets. I think the Celtics tried to and would have thrown the game against Memphis if the 3 was still a possibility

Its going to be fun when this thread actually realizes the Pelicans are winning the West.

I think there’s a legitimate chance they can pull out the first round vs the Suns. We’ll see from there. It’s not like Dallas or Utah is a juggernaut 2nd round.

It seemed to me that the Bucks just wanted to be sure they weren’t the 4, so played everyone against Boston and Detroit at the end of the season. When they were locked into 2 or 3, I don’t think they cared at that point and decided resting guys was the most important thing (and we’ve seen the last couple seasons, especially, how much health can impact the playoffs). End up 2 and you get home court in the second round. End up 3 and you get the easier matchup in the first round (assuming Brooklyn is the 7, which they were) and you still might get home court in the second round if Brooklyn beats Boston.

I just think the Bucks were fine with either the 2 or 3 and had the opportunity to rest guys in the final game. There were pros and cons to both, though the big con to the 2 seed turned out to not be much of one, after all.

Might need to set up a bail fund for ashtrae
