Yeah, anyone else who did that would be immediately fired and possibly be facing charges for filing a false police report and false disability claim (Ujiri’s team has video of him with no disability). However, since it’s a cop, at most he’ll get to retire with a full pension - won’t even have to give back all the money he stole while on sick leave.
The most egregious part of this is that the cop lied about the encounter knowing full well there were tons of cameras in the arena - and then his police captain backed him calling for Ujiri to be arrested. They clearly give no fucks about the possibility of being caught lying since there are pretty much never any consequences.
Really, the only argument you could have against Embiid is that he doesn’t stay healthy. So if we’re stipulating they’re both healthy, I don’t think it’s particularly close (and Tatum is going to be really good).
A year ago, I thought Tatum was going to top out as a multi-time fringe All-Star who needed to be the second banana to win a title. Now, I think he has legitimate MVP potential. Embiid is already great, but I think he might plateau at his current level.
Looks like my Cs are back in business without MAGAward holding them back.
And I mean come on… Tatum is 22. Look at his numbers. He’s only getting better on D and went from literally the worst iso player to one of the best in a year.
If the cop/security guard just said “sorry dude, didn’t realize you were who you were” everything would be fine, instead he made up a story/injuries and if he wasn’t a cop would face fraud charges.
Wolves fans have been making a big deal about how they have never moved up in the lottery before today. It’s only the second time they’ve won the lottery, I believe.
That is why most cops are such massive assholes on the job and off the clock. They won’t ever admit they did anything wrong and have zero empathy of consideration for humans.
