Movie Night Watch Party Megathread

Little before my time.

I did wear two different shoes bc of Punky Brewster when I was little.

… no shame zone

Do you even nickel or dime bro?

Holy shit - in 1985 ABC had Webster, Mr. Belvedere, Diff’rent Strokes, Benson, Fall Guy on Friday night - that’s really going for the jugular.

Saturday night was for Watch Party type movies.

I remember watching The Running Man and Die Harder (which I saw before Die Hard) as Saturday night movies. You don’t put Belvedere out to pasture, not like that.

Crematoria!

I watched The Warriors with my stepdad on TV (ABC I think) on a Saturday night. Blew my 10-year-old mind. Still one of my favorite movies and I should have added it to my list @RiskyFlush

Running Man one of my favorite movies growing up. Seen it at least 50 times.

When I’d visit my dad on the weekends I would watch that, Princess Bride, Roger Rabbit and Masters of the Universe at night every time. Oh, and Over the Top.

Big controversy on that movie in the theaters - I guess it caused riots or mostly people were worried it would cause riots. I remember my stepdad was very curious to watch it the first time it came on regular TV.

Watched Modern Warfare (first paintball episode) episode of Community last night and they did a Warriors reference.

I think my most rewatched list is Die Hard, Demolition Man, Speed, and the original SW and Indy Jones trilogy.

Dumbass Jr gonna try his hand at negotiating now lol

Let’s see how this goes!

Controversial movie releases I can remember are: Boyz In the Hood (for similar reasons after there were some shootings) and Hard Target got some coverage for originally being NC 17.

Hard Target was a movie I dug, “you forgot your waleyt,” “your parents, they named you after … a bug”

I really loved me some Van Damme. Bloodsport I may have seen more than any of those. Anyone see any of the early Brandon Lee movies (I’m thinking Rapid Fire)? They were very JVD like.

It really is so off the wall. Arnie was on such a roll back then.

Twins with DeVito is the most random.

They’d be doing him a favor killing Ellis.

He’s not your pal, pal.
