Modding Framework that is Actually Good and isn't Totally Idiotic

Part of this is nobody could be bothered to literally do anything.

If a handful of people didn’t just say screw it (mostly zikzak but others too) to set up discourse we would still be on that free forum.

Most people just couldn’t be bothered to participate in the process. Others wanted to make it so insanely complicated and time consuming nobody would want to participate.

So again a group of people said screw it let’s do this.

There is zero place for calling out how we got here because almost nobody participated and that is on them.

This same work ethic and decision making has been the basis for this site since before it existed. I realize now there is a massive amount of immaturity here in this group collectively and partly why it has always been so insanely difficult to do anything more or change anything.

This is not how any of this works when people actually participate and perhaps most importantly understand everything is not always going to go your way (especially if you never do anything constructive in that regard) and if your idea loses out you have to be able to accept it and work on the system in place.

Instead we have unending tantrums from people who also won’t put any work in and everyone else are the bad guys.

Now we have people who are more working on destroying the site than working to improve it, because the later is too much like work and rye former is more fun.

Moderators and moderating have been discussed into the ground here. If the majority don’t agree with you, you either accept, work to change it constructively or you leave. Sabotage is not an acceptable choice and I will go after everyone who continues to choose that option.

Completely agree about the amount of work zikzak and others did, they are heroes. Moderation, on the other hand, should be very little work. Deleting spam, removing personal information in the case of doxxing and so on. It should be a non-issue here, and there would be no shortage of volunteers.

Second, afaik all we’re looking for is a sub forum with different moderation standards. Completely standard on internet forums and also a non-issue. LOL at sabotage, jfc

Wow that post vanished in a hurry, but Vic you should make those kinds of comments in whatever new private club thread that is floating about, I’m sure it will be well received there and won’t be deleted.

One consideration in developing a modding framework is the desire to have something that scales up if this place has more than a thousand active users, in the fevered dream where this forum isn’t a complete circle jerk among refugees from a poker forum with bad software.
