Yeah ok, I’m a sucker for hair metal. Sue me. Enjoyed this, rocked out a bit. Especially “Shes Bad - B-A-D”

Why are we on the defensive? lmao

this is rockin’, boyee

Holy shit can Pyatnitski crack the top 5?

No!

In 6th place, scoring 10 points (7,5) Pyatnitski - Hit it and Quit it by Funkadelic

I really loved the funk in this. Got me moving quite a bit. The underlying message, while couched in the sensibilities of the 70s, was still basically “lets get our fuck on and then never see each other again.” which fits the category very well.

In 5th place - Scoring 11 Points (6,8) Suzzer - Genie in a Bottle by Christina Aguilera.

I forgot just how incredibly overt this song was for a super mainstream pop song, expecially since she was most likely just barely over 18 at the time of recording. Its filthy, its great, and it gets you bobbin along with it. Late 90’s shit-pop always had that effect on me.

In 4th place, scoring 12 Points (5,10) Smrk4 - Rocket Queen by Guns N Roses

I should have docked you a point for calling them Guns and Roses Smrk4.

Regardless, this hits the notes perfectly. Its fine in the move category but its exceptionally dirty. Why? Because those sounds we here at 2:20 are Axl actually banging one of his bandmates girlfriends in a recording booth.

From wikipedia: A woman named Adriana Smith had been with drummer Steven Adler for around a year. Smith later claimed in a TV interview that, after Adler insisted that she was not his girlfriend, she went to the mixing sessions at Mediasound Studios in NYC. Rose and Slash were there. Rose propositioned Smith that they have sex in a vocal booth so that the sounds that Smith made could be recorded and put over the bridge of the song. Smith replied that she would do it, “For the band, and a bottle of [Jack Daniel’s]”

So, ok on the move placement and high on the filth gets you a respectable finish just outside of the podium.

Alright, here we go, podium time

In 3rd place, scoring 13 points (8,8) MimosaDef - Anti-Love song by Betty Davis

I REALLY liked this. A lot more than I expected to in the first few notes. This is fantastic. Its low down, low key, and gets me going with that full body roll. They keyboard is sick, and the deep growling words “I know you can have me climbing the walls” is like sex right in the ear.

Seeing that this was from 73 blew my mind. You could easily put this in with the music today and it would fit like a glove.

In 2nd place, scoring 14 points (9,8) JohnnyTruant - MEGATRON by Nicki Minaj

Awwww yeah, Not sure how you can’t move to this. I’m not the biggest Nicki fan, but this song is fantastic and really gets me moving, and of course, its hard to find a Nicki song that isn’t Filthy as hell.

Well done.

Aw shit, look who’s done it again.

In 1st place, scoring 15 points (10,10) Louis Cypher - I get Off by Halestorm

Oh hey, did I mention I love rock bands fronted by kick ass women?

Yeah, I do.

Few do it better than Lzzy. Inject this shit straight into my veins. Then increase the dosage since its a song entirely about exhibitionism and Voyeurism. 1st place by days Louis, congrats.

I promised more than 1 reveal today and there will be. Lets get some chatter in here about Cat 3 first, and I will reveal cat 4 in a little bit. Looks like it will be a fun one. I love the category.

groovy. nice reveal today!

Nice. Totally worth staying up way too long. Master3004 is obviously a scholar and a gentleman. Looking forward to reading the next reveal tomorrow.

The main Rocket Queen riff/groove is better than Welcome to the Jungle, yeah? Probably my favorite on the album next to Sweet Child of Mine, which was just meant to be since the beginning of the universe, despite being dead to me for years due to hearing it too much

edit: excuse me it’s sweet child o’ mine isn’t it, fucking axl n’ his contractions

Worthy the winner, too much auto tune on Nicki though

I should save this for another Walrus but who cares I’ll just submit it anyway, but another gnr song with a contraction in it, one of the goats from the use your illusions era

dat guitar solo in Cock in my Pocket was unexpected, as was the piano throughout. Gotta think The Stooges had the market cornered on punk rock with piano accompaniment
