The Bonilla deal is pretty far down the lolmets list. It’s not really a bad deal financially.
Given how this season is going, the Bonilla deal is the least of their lolz today

Mariners cheapass ownership is never scooping Ohtani, even though he would singlehandedly make them a serious contender. LA has gotten 3.7 wins more than the M’s from the DH position this year (2.6 vs -1.1 
WAA). It would be sweet and Mariners fans deserve it, but never gonna happen because the ownership can manage to be the most profitable team in the league in a season they entered with the longest running playoff drought in pro sports.
Giants showed they were willing to pay with Judge last off season. SF has a large japanese population too along with Seattle and LA. I can see them making a big run here. Management seems to want their next Barry.

I definitely thought this dude would be hitting .220 by now but it’s July 1st and he’s coming out of a recent slump. The 2.6% BB and 31.0% K rates are not sustainable though unless he’s on some kind of Arraez Kool-Aid which doesn’t seem possible.
