What percentage of the crowd thought Tatis won that game at the end?

Hell if I know I just got home when the game ended. Looked gone on tv to me. I don’t usually leave that early but it was 8-1 and like 10:30 when we decided. Crowd was absolutely dead tonight. Announcer didn’t even try to pump the crowd up. No mvp chants for tatis or chants for manny even though he hit two home runs yesterday. He did wiff horribly on 3 straight pitches vs one of your relievers. Also oddly they showed the entire Rockies Dodgers game highlights which got lots of cheers from the visiting fans like great job getting them pumped up and reminding me that we’re not in a playoff race and none of these games matter.

Sounds like everyone could have just seen Tatis on the jumbotron.

Think I like SF > LA based on remaining schedule, but today was rough. They were about 30 minutes from a 3 game lead and instead have a 1 game lead.

Only downside to the last weekend is that the Brewers will likely be resting their key pieces, and SD will be looking to play spoiler to make up for their miserable failue thos year.

Maybe not. They’ve lost 5 straight, 4 to the Cards. Their magic number is still only 3, so one would think they will still clinch by then, but who knows. Their hitting has been shit during this losing streak and then the pitching imploded the last couple games (and the Brewers actually scored some runs yesterday).

Well, better to hit a speed bump when you’re leading the division by a ton than when you’re actually in the playoffs. Hopefully it’s just a hiccup.

wait, so a few people couldn’t believe Kiermeier got beaned when he knew it wasn’t his card–he snap handed it to the coach in the dugout.

It’s the most fair beaning I’ve seen in years, usually it’s stupid as hell. Hell he probably should get another one.

I don’t blame him for taking the card nor do I blame retailiation on that one.

I couldn’t believe no one hit him with a baseball bat to the head. Players are getting soft as fuck.

“In fact, the team has compiled a higher OPS since trading its star players” that’s right post fire sale the lineup of castaways has hit better. Go figure.

Schwindel has actually been better than Rizzo post trade and Ortega/Wisdom have been good enough not to need to pay someone to replace them (though both have come back to reality a bit and Schwindel probably will but none of those guys make much, any upgrade probably isn’t worth the fa $ spent), Happ was awful first half but had a much stronger 2nd half, we’ll see what they do though, the Cubs don’t need more Jayson Heywards.

Cubs pencil in lineup for 22 is now in some order 2B Madrigal, SS Hoerner, 1B Schwindel, 3B wisdom, CF Ortega, LF/super utility Happ?, RF sigh heyward, C Contreras. They do need a starting pitcher or two but the guy they are paying is the worst one by far but that lineup, (there are some obvious upgrade needs on the bench) but I don’t think that needs much in FA at all. I realize four of these guys at best are just stop gaps but this is a stop gap team next season too.

I guess it would be interesting to see if the cheat sheet had bad scouting info. Otherwise, is it really that helpful? I mean, the hitters likely already know where their weak spots are, and they know how Toronto is pitching to them. What’s the best stuff they could get from that little card?

He should’ve put boogers on it and given it back.

qft!

The universe clearly doesnt want them to finish that game

They put up 3 runs in the first in the second game of today’s double header, 14 seems like a strong possibility.

the red sox wearing yellow shirts with bright blue helmets is all this alternate jersey stuff going way way out of hand
