Early results from Franklin County (Columbus area) have abortion issue coming in about 10 points higher than the marijuana issue.
The early levels are hugely inflated from early voting, but I’d expect the gap to be pretty consistent.
Voting extended in a Mississippi county after precincts run out of ballots
obviously issue #1 is more important. and i’m for real happy ohio got that right.
issue #2 is what has me furiously updating twitter rn
Marijuana upgraded to “very likely to pass” on NYT needle.
I’m calling it, they’re crushing it in Ohio.
What’s interesting is that the abortion vote today isn’t strong enough to surpass the 60% threshold that the gop tried to impose on constitutional amendments this summer. That attempt failed at the ballot box in August. It took two super important vote to get here.
I’m thrilled with the result and also morbidly curious about the shenanigans that the state legislature is going to pull now.
Most of the analysis I read indicated that the threshold was picked for the August vote precisely because all of the polling indicated support for abortion was in the mid to high 50’s.
So lets break down a few things here. Both of these issues are pretty strongly progressive, yet we are seeing these godawful polls for Biden.
The meaning is clear isnt it? Seeing both of these there has to be someone high up in the party to say “he just isnt the guy, its time to move on.”
Imagine passing both of these in an off-year election and losing the presidency vote by 5+ points. Its ludicrous.
Dems win when they run on issues, they only run on issues in off-years, we’ve all been seeing this for decades now.

Thank god. Was worried with some bad recent polling and the fact that Youngkin is somehow popular.
Every other ad was either D - MAGA R’s want to make abortion illegal or R - super radical D’s who are allies with defund the police want to let all rapists and murderer’s go free.
Well that didn’t take long.

This is a bit of a scary stat.
Of the three groups, worse today is the largest, and they voted HARD against abortion rights
Oh man, I hadn’t heard anything about this.
