It’s sort of like that moment in the NYT documentary where the managing editor says it’s not my fault you have to write about puppies if that’s the only thing that gets people to buy newspapers.
This is sort of like that, except instead of quality news, we’re sacrificing any hope for change, and in it’s place we’re getting a guy who says we were wrong to want change in the first place.
So… my inlaws’ house was damaged by the tornadoes, so they are coming to stay with us. In quarantine. For an unspecified period. Needless to say, I’m very happy.
Wasn’t sure where to put this so it’ll go here. At work today was on a call with my manager and her boss. Big boss lady was complaining about the solar farm in her town and while she likes the idea of solar farms she didn’t like it where it was (in her town only drawing very little tax revenue ruining the atmosphere of the town). Mind you the solar farm is well off the road (only visibly to like 5 houses) and replaced a tobacco field. They left a couple of the old hanging barns actually. So they were literally taking away one awful product for a truly good one and getting more tax base. I was waiting for her to literally say- not in my backyard.
Thankfully we didn’t have the video chat on because the disdain on my face could not have been worse.
So my brother decided to fall off a horse and fracture most of his ribs. Still in hospital and in terrible pain. Has to do breathing exercises constantly. At least he’s not on ventilator. Stupid god damn horses.
Just a note, people should be trying to minimize their exposure to injuries during this time so they don’t accidentally butt up against an overburdened or corona infested healthcare system.
