I guess it depends what we are talking about with “some” people. Of course there will be individuals who change their vote but in terms of % of vote it will be invisible imo.
Trump did better among Hispanics than Romney. At the time, Trump hating Hispanics was more obvious than blacks. People value different things.

Voters like Joe Biden because he lied about being arrested with Nelson Mandela or because he lies non-stop about his role in the illegal Iraq War
If it turns out he lied about his VP choice during the debate, I think voters will embrace that one too

not picking a black woman might turn off some voters, but picking certain black women will turn off others. Kamala might turn off voters over the former prosecutor role, picking others may seem like pandering and an unqualified choice might turn off voters more than picking Warren who they view as more progressive or whose views align more with their own.

Obviously we’re going to be bombarded with BENGHAZI and TARMAC CONVERSATION bullshit for months, but Rice seems like she’d be a pretty good VP, as far as her ability to actually do the job is concerned.
