Anyone chanting would be pretty dumb if they couldn’t tell the difference between a workshopped pretend answer and something honest. She may well have not picked Shapiro in order to get these votes and there’s no way she’s going to say or do anything better than that. What she said seems like something she genuinely means and that’s better than just lying to the protestors.

John Kerry didn’t have VoteVets, a multi-million dollar PAC that is going to spend those multi-millions on IEs setting the record straight. Also, over 60% of the officer corps of the military identify as moderate or Democrats, which is a big change from 2004 (believe me, I was IN the military in 2004)

No, they didn’t. GWB only got 286 electoral votes when he was at war with two countries at a time when the Iraq War still had about 65% favorability. They tried to paint Kerry as a weeny coward, but it didn’t work and it wasn’t why he lost.
The Walz “retiring as” vs “retiring at” scandal won’t mean anything to anyone who just doesn’t want Walz there for other reasons.

Buried about half an inch deep there is the old anti-Semitic trope about Jewish loyalty to anything other than Jews being suspect.

To be totally honest if I suddenly woke up Kamala tomorrow my strategy would be to say as little as possible until elected and then do everything I could to help Palestinians from being slaughtered. Tell Israel to cut the shit or the money train is cut off as long as I am president.
Not saying she is going to do that but I do think just sidestepping this issue mostly for now is the thing to do until you have power.
