I think it’s making the point that transphobic bigots think that trans people are a modern invention. But that theres lots of evidence for much more gender fluidity in actual history.
Lots of people that would be called trans today going way back, but its also very different, very culturally specific, so it’s kind of anachronistic to call it trans.
When people talk about nazi book burnings at the very beginning of it all, what they don’t realize is that they’re talking about the burning of medical research affirming trans people, and the actual building where trans people received affirming care
Just a snippet but trans people have always been here because it’s an intrinsic part of humanity. It’s not a trend and it’s not a quirky behavior to be “tolerated”
