ITV: Impeachment Television

I’m not arguing that they are.

I’m thinking through the specific things they could be saying/doing and where they would do it. We’re in a totally different place if no one in the party can craft an appropriate message, but that’s not where we’re at.

To me, the thread we’re referencing is good and could be effective if repurposed for different platforms. But no, to your point, it’s not like this is the most prominent messaging across platforms. No one will buy what you’re selling if they don’t even know you’re open for business.

JT nailed it right here.

Lots of morons vote & the GOP understand that. Dem leadership doesn’t.

Agree with this, but quoting as a heads up because you are using “disinterested” incorrectly (as is increasingly common).

(Note: just looked it up, and your usage is listed as a second definition, but I still think it’s incorrect. )

From millions of sources all over the globe, through every possible channel and medium - light waves, air waves, ticker tapes, computer banks, telephone wires, television cables, satellites, printing presses - information pours in. Behind it, in every imaginable form of storage - on paper, on video and audio tape, on discs, film, and silicon chips–is an ever greater volume of information waiting to be retrieved. Information has become a form of garbage, not only incapable of answering the most fundamental human questions but barely useful in providing coherent direction to the solution of even mundane problems … information appears indiscriminately, directed at no one in particular, in enormous volume and at high speeds, and disconnected from theory, meaning and purpose.

Not a half bad elevator pitch for Unstuck

It’s depressing to think that quote from Rivaldo was written over a quarter century ago.

R voters seem to think there won’t be an impeachment at all. I’m not sure they’re wrong sadly. Unfortunately, they’re right that so far it’s been a political blunder.

Wtf are you talking about it’s been a political blunder? It’s keeping him on the run and on the defensive. It’s brought people out of the woodwork to go on record saying Trump sought quid pro quo. He has no idea which cronies he can trust to pull off his crimes. If nothing else it’s maybe slowed him down from pulling more of these shenanigans leading up to the election.

I’m gonna take a wild guess you were one of the people screaming for Pelosi’s head for not launching impeachment? Those same people I predicted would be disappointed when the outcome didn’t immediately result in Trump removed from office?

Post 2018 election what has Trump accomplished? It isn’t so much the impeachment as the loss of the house that has slowed Trump down.

Trump is going to keep testing the fences like a velociraptor until he faces some consequences for anything. Even if it doesn’t remove him from office it keeps him occupied and on the defensive.

If Ukraine had acquiesced and launched a sham investigation into Biden - it would be very bad for our democracy - regardless of what you think about Biden. If you’re not going to use impeachment for that there’s no reason to even use it.

Also there’s a pretty good chance these hearings bring down a few more crooks - maybe even Giuliani or Nunes.

Federal judge says former White House counsel Don McGahn must speak to House

From CNN’s Katelyn Polantz

A federal judge decided today that former White House counsel Don McGahn must testify to the House in its impeachment probe, though the ruling is likely to go to an appeals court.

“However busy or essential a presidential aide might be, and whatever their proximity to sensitive domestic and national-security projects, the President does not have the power to excuse him or her from taking an action that the law requires,” Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson writes.

The ruling is a blow to Trump and the firewall the White House has used to block parts of the impeachment inquiry. The judge’s ruling could encourage resistant witnesses from the administration to testify and could bolster any case the House makes to impeach the President for obstructing its proceedings or obstructing justice.

The House Judiciary Committee has been trying to force McGahn to testify since April about the President’s attempts to obstruct the Russia investigation. The committee says it still has an urgent need to hear from McGahn because he would help the House investigate impeaching the President for reasons in addition to the Ukraine scandal.

The Justice Department is likely to appeal today’s ruling. The agency, representing McGahn and the White House, may need to act quickly if the House seeks McGahn’s testimony soon and he still refuses.

If McGahn were to appear for testimony, he still may be able to refuse to answer questions, citing executive privilege.

It’s as if checks notes Schiff knows what he’s doing. Now let’s see what happens with the Mazars decision.

So it will get appealed until it gets to Beery McRaperton and then???

Will gladly bet on him never testifying.
