Theres a lot of business strategists who think “This is the future of the industry” and “we can be successful doing it” are the same thing.
I thought that was the base assumption about TicTok? Are there people that actually think China’s government hasn’t been using/influencing tictok in unsavory ways?

Well, it’s easy to see how people get “red-pilled” via youtube.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that every single gaming-related video I look up has some right wing anti-woke “debate” video or other RWNJ garbage (Megyn Kelly? seriously?) like 4th or 5th down the list of recommended vids. Every. Single. One. And this is on my main account that I use to watch liberal/left-wing stuff, too, so the algorithm is going against my interests and suggesting them anyway.
I made a new account just to see what that would be like with no algorithm, and it’s even worse. One, maybe two degrees of separation from pop culture to fascist hellhole.

Weird my youtube account is ancient and I follow/watch a decent amount of gaming stuff and basically never see that. Mostly elden ring/overwatch/tekken though. 
This is an extremely loaded question. Do you support legitimate verification on social media accounts?
How is it loaded? I’m genuinely asking whether life would be better without social media. My view is, no, not really; functioning social media platforms are helpful and fun.
What do you mean by “legitimate verification?” I think bot accounts should be disallowed and banned, if that’s what you mean.

It’s very troubling to me that people exponentially more educated than me react to transparent provocation to a degree where they actually empower the same morons who are the bane of their existence.
I just watched a couple clips of Stavros Halkias on Rogan last week and was immediately suggested several Jordan Peterson vids.
Clips were funny though. Joe kept yammering about how amazing it was that people aren’t getting banned and shadow banned anymore and Stavvy was just like sure bro and kept changing the subject.

My YouTube feed is always trying to get me to watch alt-right videos. ALWAYS. It is so fucking annoying.
Every single study done on social media shows its a net negative, on children, on mental health, etc etc. Uncontrolled social media is a cancer. In 50 years people letting their kids have this stuff will be like watching a movie where everyone is smoking inside today.

What do you do about, say, the utility sector where a single parent company may own utilities in multiple states that need to communicate to distinct customer groups?
Use words to make it clear which group you’re talking to?
The fact that youtube keeps pushing Jordan Peterson over and over, even to people who specifically hate him and that kind of stuff in general - suggests to me that the algorithm has figured out that if it can get a person into Jordan Peterson, that person has a good chance of eventually becoming hyper-engaged.
It must have some success with this strategy. So it will keep pushing JP to everyone, forever.
