Is there anything Biden can do now to win over progressives?

Age in the Cage was Halloween Havoc 1997. Just rewatch that.

Trump has quietly stopped golfing. I legitimately think his neurological issues preclude it.

Joe Biden also seems to have neurological issues

WOAT stunner outside of cabinet member Linda McMahon.

Yeah trueā€¦ :mask:

Itā€™s not that there isnā€™t a pick that Biden could make that would make (Bernie) people happy, itā€™s that he isnā€™t going to do that. Heā€™s going to pick Kamala or something like that, who was literally a state attorney general. For example, she claimed to be for M4A for a while but did not really support it once the details were released IIRC, and she is pretty much a best case.

While I think most Bernie supporters will bite the bullet and vote for Biden in important states, but the question is less whether or not these people will vote for him, but more why the party that claims to be the standard barer for the left refuses to support even centrist policies. Even during the presidential elections more than a 1/3rd of eligible voters choose to stay at home. Probably few people who feel they have a lot to lose abstain from voting, so people who are more heavily taxed probably show up in high percentages. That means the people the Ds claim to represent are overwhelmingly represented in the abstainers and the party doesnā€™t seem to give a crap.

They would rather lose in power of their fiefdom, than feel the party is slipping away from them and win.

Apparently Biden floated a cabinet list that included hits like Jamie Dimon as treasury secretary. Lol Iā€™m not voting for this dude. :joy:

Hi

You think thereā€™s a difference between Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase?

There is a functional difference here. When Jamie Dimon says deregulate everything under a Democratic POTUS, all the Republicans and 60% of the Democrats will vote for it. When Mnuchin says it under a Republican POTUS none of the Democrats will vote for it.

Jamie Dimon wouldnā€™t be president and canā€™t deregulate anything.

Both suck. One has Trump and McConnell. Easy choice.

No one is picking Jamie Dimon as T-sec because theyā€™re looking to reinstate Glass-Steagall.

I agree. Biden is hardly the guy who is going to increase banking regulation. But he is also not going to actively but it.

I reluctantly will give Joey some credit because when he was a Senator he voted against it when Glass-Steagall was repealed - and the repeal law signed by Bill Clinton. Easier to do as a Senator than a POTUS though.

Actually, Iā€™m not sure how this works/worked. He voted against it, but then he voted for the resolution between the Senate and House versions. I think this counts as voting for it. Credit revoked. Some of the progressive Dems (eg Russ Feingold, Paul Wellstone) voted against that resolution and Bernie voted against it in the House.

canā€™t imagine posting a picture of a former Goldman Sachs guy and thinking its a dunk against detractors of the obama administration
