Iowa Caucus Predictions... SEASON Thread

Idk, seems like we’re currently 1/1 itt :joy: I understand what you’re saying and don’t disagree. Six years ago I held the same position as Jman. I’m not calling him as a person evil, I’m sure he’s a good guy. But yeah, honey can be more effective than vinegar. Conceded.

Which is ironic given that this place was all in on Warren not that long ago. Being convinced that you are absolutely right and everyone else is absolutely wrong is not healthy. A number of the posters here used to be anarcho-capitalists back in the day ffs.

Yeah, i never opposed UHC. I opposed M4A and thought a public option while allowing people like me to keep our union-negotiated insurance was fine. People here pointed out that M4A would be better than my insurance, and I could still get supplemental insurance anyway, so fine.

Also lol at comparing the idea that public option UHC is better than single payer UHC with the idea that black people shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

And here I thought we had you on the golden path. Sad!

Media currently in the bargaining phase.

Like, assholes, check a betting market. Bernie is the clear favorite at roughly even money, and you’re all writing articles about how Klob won by losing and the real battle is to emerge as the last moderate standing. Both NYT and WSJ have these dumbass stories on the top of their homepages right now.

Lol. You convinced me that M4A is superior to public option, take the win.

Jman,

You should also really read this.

A fair transition to Medicare for All: Bernie will require that resulting healthcare savings from union-negotiated plans result in wage increases and additional benefits for workers during the transition to Medicare for All. When Medicare for All is signed into law, companies with union negotiated health care plans would be required to enter into new contract negotiations overseen by the National Labor Relations Board. Under this plan, all company savings that result from reduced health care contributions from Medicare for All will accrue equitably to workers in the form of increased wages or other benefits. Furthermore, the plan will ensure that union-sponsored clinics and other providers are integrated within the Medicare for All system, and kept available for members. Unions will still be able to negotiate for and provide wrap-around services and other coverage not duplicative of the benefits established under Medicare for All.”

Fair enough, I clearly did not know enough about his plan.

Sorry, couldn’t resist

That does not bode well for the future of this place.

I for one enjoyed watching single payer healthcare perform the impressive feat of going from being non-existent in the US to being the one and only acceptable position to hold while still not existing.

I mean it wasn’t just Jman expressing that he wanted to keep his healthcare, It was completely how he phrased it. " I don’t want your shitty healthcare " and several other lines that just reeked of fuck you I got mine. So I think a newcomer will do fine as long as they aren’t phrasing their positions like that. That said Jman is obviously a good dude though and we should have done better.

I mean we all obviously really like this community and it has helped many of us.

That said I agree us Bernie supporters need to be a better job of having civil and rational discussions. I’d also like to point out one of the people going hardest at Jman is a Warren supporter so it isn’t just Bernie bros lol.

Jman is obviously a good dude though and we should have done better.

Love how the corn cobs aren’t for anything, they’re just seriously concerned about Bernie

I can think of a few historical examples of ideas or positions that were very clearly morally and ethically correct long before the political will to manifest them in reality existed. This is another one of those.

Yeah you really do. The false equivalence here is fucking ridiculous. Holy shit at lumping Warren in there btw, this community was like majority Warren supporters around 6 months ago.

(Edit: I mean other democrats, not trump supporters, I agree, screw them).

Yeah I remember simplicitus post that bernie bros are basically Trump supporters and either side trying to use that is behaving like a child.

Honestly with your constant posting to try and push people away from Bernie makes me pretty confident you’re actually a Pete or Klob agent here to sow dissent. In fact I’m certain of it and will consider you a Pete supporter from here on out.

Hopefully after pete falls behind in the south and drops out you drop the act and come over to Bernie for reals.

I just think infighting like this is stupid and why we’ll always lose. Republicans win because trump gets 99% of the primary vote and has near 100% approval. Granted it’s a cult but my god if we had that kind of unity we’d be unstoppable.

I don’t even consider pete supporters that ideologically opposed to me. We all GENERALLY want the same important shit, which is to get trump out of there, dismantle fascism, restore our democracy and for people to have better lives. We disagree about implementations but that does not make any side evil or malicious ffs. Republicans absolutely are opposed to this, and I don’t mind characterizing them as evil, but they’re absolutely not the same as someone like jman or skydiver.

When did I compare you to a Trump supporter?

I mean, I’m not voting for Warren, but lol at thinking someone is engaging in a despicable act by voting for Warren. It is by no means settled that the best candidate to beat Trump is Bernie. You can’t possibly know that, nobody does. It’s a valid hypothesis, but to call someone despicable because they don’t agree with your hypothesis is ridiculous.
