A spreadsheet application is a program designed to do something specific. It was the only kind of programming “language” I was able to turn into something useful in school. Sometimes. You do need training beyond the basic ability to use Excel or time to study the code.
Sure. Anyone competent could have opened up the spreadsheet and figured out what was going on in ten or twenty minutes. Certainly anyone who is the CFO of…anything. These are not competent people.
We’re not even talking about some elaborate Excel doc with macros and external references. The woman was stumped by Google Sheets.

You can make apps just as complex in Google Sheets, if not more so.
But like, it cracks me up how the IDP keep talking about this like it’s the NASA control room in Houston or something. You have a bunch of precincts and three numbers per candidate in those precincts. How complicated an app could we possibly be talking about?

If we get some good news I will update you guys. If we don’t I’m not so sure. Of course on her current insurance she is limited to who we can see if we want it covered so it will be a few weeks until the surgery (early March) even happens so in the meantime we are in limbo. On one hand that makes me feel like maybe they aren’t that worried about it. On the other hand it makes me feel like if it is the worst case scenario it needs to happen sooner rather than later and kind of pisses me off.
