Investing (aka GameStonk and other gambling events)

This is exactly the wrong mindset. You need to reinforce victory and know when to cut your losses when certain assets underperform. Fortune favors the bold.

Should I be investing in BTC even at this peak?

Should I legitimately feel bad for owning btc? There are so many things we do, use, and purchase in our daily lives that we could feel guilty for, I’ve kind of moved off from putting so much blame on the user/consumer for these things as a way to fight back against my own bouts of depression which I now believe stemmed from being forced to participate in a capitalistic economy. I think we all agree systemic change is needed, but trashing a random guy for driving a truck, eating meat, or being wasteful is not useful, healthy, or productive.

I don’t think BTC is perfect or will save the world or even take down the USD or become a global reserve currency like many of the biggest bulls do. I wouldn’t want to live in a world ruled by early btc holders either. But for know I’m enjoying seeing BTC disrupt the financial world, and I think it will continue to do so and prove itself as a useful alternative to other asset classes. I have sell targets in mind and wont be holding forever.

What does Chipotle have to do to you people to get you to stop eating their food?

Am I remembering right that Bitcoin literally has child porn encoded in the ledger? I would be pretty cautious about that.

Crank the E. Coli up to 11!

Be less convenient and available.

In the before times, when I was traveling, Chipotle burrito bowl was my go to meal in a pinch. There is always one around, you can construct one with very good macros, and it tastes pretty decent.

Smart move by Chipotle was I uploaded a gift card to my account and there’s only 5 dollars left and I can’t do a split payment so basically they stole 5 dollars from me. STONKS

The people who would downgrade Chipotle for e.coli aren’t their customer base. They aren’t even casual customers. The customer base gives roughly zero fucks.

IME even when a superior competing burrito chain is next to it with better deals AND food the Chipotle location beats it like a drum. Like I said, the brand is strong.

I think dollar cost averaging thru 2021 will be very profitable if you have a long term mindset, but of course you should do your own research and come to your own conclusions. I studied and learned about the space for several years before throwing down a large investment, saw a lot friends get wrecked in 2018 first hand. The price is certainly exceeding my expectations for where I thought it would be right now. I’ve been expecting a pullback since ~15k, but recent PA is showing why shorting btc after a halving and multi-year bear market is a very bad idea.

The stock did get completely wrecked by E. coli, so it had to affect some people

What is this superior competing burrito chain? The only national one I can think of is Qdoba, which I personally find to be worse, but I guess it’s in the ballpark.

I can think of an example of a local chain that is better, but no national ones.

Pretty much every taco/burrito truck I have ever been too absolutely crushes Chipotle. Chipotle is literally a McDonald’s spinoff.

Yeah, I don’t think anyone disagrees with that.

Freebirds >>> Chipotle.

I didn’t know they were national. I’ve only seen them in TX.

Yeah, the only place I’ve ever been knowingly faced with a Freebirds vs Chipotle decision has been in TX and then it’s Freebirds every time. That’s my #1 chain burrito place.

The splat from this year coincides with everything nosediving in March/April. It had a multi-year down trend before that beginning in late 2015 with the first e. coli breakouts but it’s unlikely the seven? Known outbreaks over five years would give that length of downswing. Shit doesn’t work like that.

IMO Moe’s is superior and it’s not close (free chips and salsa, cheaper across the board, more options across the board, literal $5 burritos on Mondays) and I saw multiple locations get dummied side by side. I’ve also never seen a competing restaurant be busy and a Chipotle be empty outside of a CFA which its own brand of insanity and a separate category. A billion caveats and JMOs go with the above.

Can’t, no watts left after maintaining my cash hodlings.

I’ve only had Moe’s ones and I thought it was Qdoba level. I’ll make an effort to give it another try should the opportunity present itself. Looks like except for Cali, they’re in states I don’ t often visit, so it might be a while.

Pancheros is a better chain but I’m not sure if they’re national, I know they’re all over the Midwest. There is one by my house that is like 500 feet away from a Chipotle and the Chipotle is always way busier in my experience

In like every major city?
