Everyone seems to be worried about smarter Trump. What I really think we should fear is dumber/worse Trump. I mean even Trump isnāt dropping N-bombs and such even though he really fucking wants to. Trump just started saying some of the quiet parts out loud. If the next guy decides to say all of the quiet parts and not just out loud but on a fucking megaphone, we may have a real problem.
Pair this Trump 2.0 with some smart/evil dude behind the scenes (Iām thinking someone like a Bannon or a much smarter Stephen Miller) who is pulling the strings and America is done.
Nobody can blow the racist dog-whistle as deftly as Trump. And I have to believe thatās really the only lure. What else could it be? Anybody can appoint justices or do tax cuts. I think many of his followers think Trump will lead them farther down the road to white supremacy than anyone else could. Its just going to be hard to find a replacement who can collect the same kind of support without being graphically obvious about the intent.
What Iām saying is that they will absolutely be graphically obvious about the intent. And that will actually be a much bigger problem than Trump.
And Iām suggesting Trumpkins like the subtlety, or the illusion of legitimacy. I think they want to follow a David Duke who claims heās not David Duke more than wanting to follow David Duke himself. I donāt really think weāll see someone who is bluntly racist taking the mantle.
