No, I did not know that there are cops that will ascertain that someone is half black and consciously decide to only beat them half to death. Links to non-satirical sources of that happening would be much appreciated.

The article was a parody about a cop who treats people half Black, half as bad as if they were 100% Black. You respond to that with:
To me this says, “A cop like that would treat me (someone who is half Black) the same as someone who is entirely Black.” But that is quite different from the joke (half Black is treated better than Black).

Man I don’t even know how to respond to this. My post was a half joke about how there are massive amounts of people who think any ancestry of color makes you a full blown n word. You’re making this a whole assed argument for reasons I don’t even really want to know. Hint: it’s possible for people (not specifically a cop - hope that helps) for this to exist out there in droves, for this article’s satire to hold true without being perfectly literal. To answer your question - no, I do not believe there are literal cops purity testing white mixed race males. What a weird thing to have to type out. Holy shit.

Yes we all know this. The confusing bit is that the joke in the article was very clearly something different.
That part was obviously me not being serious and being snarky because you were being snarky. At least when I said I wasn’t sure if you were aware it was parody, I was very clear to say that I was pretty damn sure that you knew, just not 100%. Your response was different from that.

I’ve posted about this before but when I type the word “your”, I automatically type you’re and go back and correct like 80% of the time. It’s just what my fingers do. It’s some weird muscle memory. This is true for lots of words with apostrophes.
But yeah, it looks and sounds dumb, so I deserve that.
