Kinda pulling for bryson. He only hit half the fairways today and managed to be 2 under, pretty incredible feat the way this rough is playing
The thing is, the fairways are so narrow it’s not easy to hit them no matter what club you pull or how hard you swing.
So, if you accept you are going to miss a bunch, may as well miss them 50 yards further than others.
exactly. It’s the only way he could possibly score like that out of this rough. No one can really seem to advance it much farther than 120 yards out of the rough - with his strength and distance off the tee, he’s within striking distance of a lot of these greens even when he misses.
He’s breaking the game and it’s kind of fun to watch. I disagree strongly with those that say the courses should be made more difficult or the equipment toned down.
I think all the subtle digs people take at his “methods” and “thinking” is hilarious too trying to portray him as this mad scientist when really all that’s happened is that he’s fully embraced analytics and tried to tailor his game to the math.

Bryson and Bubba the only 2 to card an under-par round today
Wow did I miss a bloodbath. How did they get the course to change so much overnight? Going to catch highlights tonight hopefully.
Wind was like 10-15mph all day with stronger gusts and throwing the pins in more difficult locations. You can also tell the greens quickened up throughout the day where they started to turn brown/grey in spots.
Gonna squeeze in 18 holes and catch a rerun of today’s round later. I love golfing on major weekends because the course is totally dead.
6200 yard par 70 which is a little on the long side for me but I feel like I’ve been playing so well lately that I’m hoping to have a good round. But I find when I’m playing really well it’s best to set my expectations low, because if they’re too high I get frustrated if/when I start shanking shots.
So I’m just aiming to be under 100 today. If i can do that and get one or two nice drives then it was a successful day. I wanna hit more than 1 green today though, been working on my irons a lot so I’ll be kinda disappointed if I’m missing shots inside 150.

I only hit 1 GIR Wednesday, had a +5 and triple on b2b holes, and still shot a 99 on a par 72. Had 3 pars as well. If you can limit your putts, you’ll break 90 imo
I’m 15 over after 6 so i guess this is just a practice round. Lol.

Shot a 64 in my scramble today.
Par’d 7, 8,9,and 10. 10 i had a miraculous 20 footer for par. Maybe I’m gonna salvage it!
