I worked as a valet at a nice hotel in downtown OKC after college. Most of the NBA teams stayed there. You’d be shocked (Maybe?) how many professional athletes are having extramarital relationships. It’s the way these super alphas are wired. I would say a faithful, married athlete is the exception, not the rule.
Shot a 51-48 today. Had a 10(!!!) and 7 on back to back holes on the front. Super fortunate to break 100. Limiting my 3 putts is saving me.

Setup is a disgrace. How the hell do you have soft greens when the high is 70 degrees and there is zero threat of losing them. Their excuse is “pace of play,” F that, invite less people.

I posted this incorrectly. The USGA sets up the course, not the host. So the USGA knew the conditions would yield these type of scores. There’s reports apparently that the super of Winged Foot was extremely upset with the USGA folks. So maybe he’ll have his crew sneak out tonight and roll the greens.

It’s because they had so much less daylight now than in June, they needed scores a little bit lower so people would finish rounds in daylight.
Think it will be harder in the weekend. Agree that it is a better viewing spectacle when it is tougher. Greens were so soft today, didn’t feel like a US open at all.

Yeah they have been but from what I’ve read (and who knows how accurate it is) is that players have complained enough to the USGA that the USGA has acquiesced to the complaining.
Golf is a weird game where there are different organizations all looking to make sure their voice is the loudest.
