Golf: No Bones, just Bonesaws

This is what is blowing up the golf news?

The one signing that would change the game for LIV.

o come on even they wouldn’t do that. Does he even play golf anymore?

They would and it would be the smartest thing they could do to get eyeballs on their product outside of signing Tiger Woods or maybe Rory.

People will tune in for the curiosity factor alone.

Lol, they went out and got the even more washed version of young Rickie.

Who’s next, Nick Watney? Hunter Mahan?

Not even close to the same. Anthony Kim is an enigma. Was the heir apparent to being the best player in the game and he just walked away in his prime and disappeared.

No one is suggesting he can play anymore like he used to. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of golf fans who remember him and would be curious to see him reemerge–even if just on LIV.

Maybe for a match or two - but if he’s not a good golfer or doesn’t start improving quick, people will stop caring pretty quick.

He’s also 37 so odds that he can come back at a high (or even decent) level are pretty slim.

Even the most ardent Faldo haters should appreciate him here ripping LIV and Norman to shreds.

Screw the haters. Torrey Pines delivers a great tourney year after year in the regular season and in the majors.

More good stuff in EP2 of The Grind.

The AT&T is the most unwatchable tournament at the most beautiful course. Why do they keep doing the celebrity pro-am thing when NOBODY wants to see that crap?

I’d rather they do this than keep PB in the rotation for the US Open. But ideally, yeah, keep that “celebrity” nonsense to the Lake Tahoe event. If they want amateurs in these things, show the Monday after majors to show what regular joes would do. Edit it and show it primetime with Bob from Cleveland hitting 5 on 12 tee at ANGC. I’d watch the shit out of that.

The first “elevated” PGA tour event is upon us at the Phoenix Open. All (but one?) of the top players will be in the field. A cool $20 mil up for grabs.

Not that LIV is any real threat to the tour, but if this elevated event creates any of the drama and excitement the tour is aiming for, it will just further crush any of what LIV is attempting to do.

Should be interesting to see how the year unfolds with the rest of the elevated events and an effectively 2-tier tour, with Rahm and Rory both looking close to unbeatable at the moment and vying for world #1.

Pretty cool discussion here by the Fire Pit Collective crew about all the implications of the how LIV and the elevated tour events are throwing the entire pro golf eco-system into turmoil.

rahm, scheffler, xander at the top of the leaderboard, should be a fun weekend

tiger playing next week

:vince3:

LIV might fold after this year. These new elevated events are sick.

The 16th stadium hole at WM is a great feature, but the coverage of the hole each year is insufferable.

Hard agree. Colt Knost SUCKS

Yeah they don’t know what to do with it in the coverage. Probably will be lit coming down the stretch tomorrow tho.
