Why do they have to come back if they are making millions on LIV?
Where does Phil Mickelson go to get his apology?
Somewhat hilarious to me that the Match Play keeps the WGC Designation even as I’m pretty sure all the other WGC Events have died off.
was the WGC officially part of the PGA tour? Is the FedEx cup inside the PGA tour or alongside? Like, can someone draw me a venn diagram like that one someone posted of the UK/british isles/commonweath a couple of weeks ago?
I get that the majors all exist outside of the PGA tour but after that I have no idea what’s going on.
WGC was a collaboration between PGA Tour and Euro Tour
Yeah WGC was kind of the original half-assed idea of what they’re trying to do now. It was a series of 4 limited field no-cut events that existed to both get the top guys together and funnel them more $$.
So entry into these big events comes via the Tour’s opaque PIP, which is based on some unclear criteria of popularity rather than performance, a la money earnings or Fedex points?
“…and the determination of players will start with the Player Impact Program, which will increase to 20 players and pay $100 million”
That part seems weird to me. So will these big events be limited to only 20 players?
I’m not exactly squirming in my seat with anticipation of the 30-player season-ending Tour Championship, so I doubt these non-major elevated events will move the needle that much in terms of fan engagement. Most of them are just existing tournaments that have been around forever, with boosted prize pools.
Ultimately, it’s all about the Majors.
This shift to the “big events featuring the top players” will also relegate most of the rest of the players and events to second-tier status, and make these minor events even less worth watching.
But maybe the additional injection of money alone will be enough to keep most of the better players from jumping ship.

It used to be that you could count on some of those “elevated events” getting ~all of the healthy top 50 in the world. If they get similar field strength at The Memorial, Bay Hill, Genesis, etc, those are worth watching.
I think it’ll be the top 20 PIP and the top X in FedEx Cup points, probably. X > 20. That’s just allowing, for example, Tiger to qualify without playing a full schedule. Or someone like Rickie who’s popular but not a top 50 (or 125 in this case) player.
Oh, and there are going to be teams now too.
The focus on PIP over fedex points or moneylist makes sense if you think of this as the tour’s compromise to reward players who are actually delivering revenue in the form of TV ratings.
Bob does sports ep just dropped (nearly 4 hours late, weird I can even notice that, I’m obsessed with this content) and it’s another video of Cold Cuts/Fat Perez against bryson and a guy that somehow outdouches bryson.
bobby is missing again, as he was in the first video because he was “under the weather.” these are the only episodes where he has ever been missing, save one short early in the channel’s history when he got food poisoning.
either he doesn’t want to play with bryson, which if is the case, I love him even more, or, they filmed both these eps in 1 day and staggered the content (probably more likely).
weird though
These Tiger Woods PopStroke courses also look like a lot of fun.

Rors!
I truly wonder sometimes if bryson thinks his back is gonna hold out into his 30’s swinging the way he does. i know they scienced the crap out of it and he does stuff like turn his left foot out to lower the forces inflicted on his joints but he’s hitting a 4 iron 300 right now ffs.
tiger’s a mess now a lot because he swung 120% for so long. the fact that john fucking daly is in better golf shape says a lot.
Tiger having multiple car incidents hardly helps.
Especially the one involving Elin and a 9-iron outside his house.
he’s lucky he survived the last one:
but, the left leg issues started forever ago and was totally how hard he was swinging. I sympathize a lot because I have left knee issues too and it gives me a tendency to hang back on my right side in my swing and my contact gets shit.
I’ve seriously considered going lefty. Hope this surgery works and I start nuking the ball in 2023.
2023 is gonna be a make or break year for me golf wise. I just had my left knee almost completely reconstructed with a donor graft. Wont be seeing a golf course likely til summer 2023.
I finished my golf year playing some of the best golf of my life practically on one leg in immense pain. I know I’m gonna come back and it may be rough for a while, but wherever I get back to has to become better than before this surgery. So many of my issues I traced to a tendency to hang back on my right side. if I could explode on the left side without fear I would feel so powerful
when i can finally bear weight, I plan on doing nothing but putting until however long it is i can swing again. putting is by far my biggest leak.
what the absolute fuck are they doing to new drivers these days?
kyle berkshire just posted some INSANE clip of a 716 yard par 5. He reached in two but that isn’t the story here. His second shot was a 260 (you read that right) yard 7 iron.
I don’t want the distance to go down for myself, because the #1 thing that used to hurt my handicap was my poor driving distance, but jfc dude that’s ridiculous. that’s absolutely ridiculous.
I knew something was wrong when that one influencer kid Good Good and his friend nuke the ball like 350 and they cannot possibly weigh more than 140 lbs soaking wet.
