Seems kind of stupid to be upset about, the exemption only applies to the greens, not the whole course. Surely a golf course with only the greens being watered is better for the environment than whatever would be developed in its place.
You can tell Will Z wants to try this shot so badly. Smart decision though.

So this ended up being the worst golf experience of my life. The course was packed, pace of play was excruciatingly slow, and we didn’t get to finish. I didn’t get to play 16, 17, or 18, the only reason to play the course. I paid $250 for the round, which was half price. It was fucking terrible. Every hole I had to wait 5-10 minutes for every shot and then I felt rushed because there were people stacked up behind us. It was fucking miserable. To top it off, I drove 3.5 hours just to play. I haven’t been this pissed in a while.

Seriously that sucks. 17 is the island green? You had to stop due to darkness?
Why was it so slow - everyone shooting terrible or do they just send out tons of groups?
Sent out tons of groups and then people were taking forever on 17, the island green. It’s understandable that people would play that hole slow, because of its notariety, but it is inexcusable that they packed so many people on the course while
Charging so much money.
Should be a two shot rule. If you can’t get it on the green with 2 tries and players waiting behind, you just take a snowman on your card and go to 18.

I didn’t finish, but I was shooting poorly. We were playing from the blue tees and I probably wasn’t going to break 100. I play terribly when I have to wait or feel rushed, I literally felt both on most of my shots so it’s no surprise I shot poorly. :(

sorry to hear that. what time did you tee off at? could you have tried to play in the dark or did they kick yall off?
We played in the dark for a bit, but it’s not really golf to me. We teed off at 3:50. Normally that would be plenty of time to finish before dark.

Got hit into twice on back to back holes today. Both times waiting to play our approach shots from the fairway, and a tee ball goes bouncing past. And while the pace was overall ok, we certainly had a few minutes to wait on every hole to tee off since it was a busy hacker Sunday. Got around in under 4 hours, so we certainly weren’t dragging.
I’m not much of a fighter, but I was ready to go.
First one, ok whatever, maybe you really got one on the screws or judged it wrong. But on the next hole too? Hell no.
Guy I was playing with yelled back after the second one, but the assholes didn’t even apologize. Was ready to follow them home and burn the shape of a penis into their lawns with gasoline.
If they don’t apologize, I’ll just play both my ball and their ball and then let them search for their “lost” ball.

Once my friends and I were playing and the group behind kept hitting into us. One of my group, an ex-college football lineman who is the biggest, strongest, hot-headed, most roided dude I know, confronted the culplrit, who turned out to be a redneck cop from somewhere and was armed.
Cooler heads finally prevailed, but I seriously thought someone was going to get killed that day.
Between this and subway yakuza encounter you seem to really be living on the edge.

Did I mention the time I was playing alone on a mild winter day on a hole lining a wooded area, and was shot at–so close that I could literally feel the bullets whizzing by me?
