I dunno. I wouldn’t count on enough interest in having another bracket as a given at all. If there is, I could see doing either songs from musicals or whole musicals. But I wouldn’t worry about this too much. I think it’s better to just focus on getting themes right, right now. That’s where the energy is.
Given that, I don’t think I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing, Mrs. Robinson, and Bohemian Rhapsody should qualify.
Not a theme either. So many of these are not themes! The inclusion of lyrical songs is doing great damage to the ceremonial anointing of a John Williams composition.
Anyway, the bracket will be what it will be. I foresee most of my votes including me putting my hands on my hips and stomping my feet.
No one’s denying that it’s an epic song. But it wasn’t written for a movie, and it’s only a song for a movie at all because it was an epic song, not because it was a movie theme. YouTube view counts are for seeding, not qualification.

I can see your points about BR, since the movie was really about the band, and in particular Freddy, and not a rhapsody by Bohemians.
But there are lots of songs that were popular before movies were made that became themesongs of those movies. Why would those be eliminated?
If we can’t count the Aerosmith song then I guess Lose Yourself gets canned too, even though we all know it’s the 8 Mile themesong (also nominated for Best Original Song oscar)

It will be a hard discussion regarding how to handle songs.
Irene Cara also won an Oscar for “Flashdance - What a feeling”. My brain connects that one to the movie. Footloose by Kenny Loggins would be the same. Honestly I almost think that these are two very different things what I would consider a theme and a song that is inextricably tied to a movie. Everyone probably ties “My heart will go on” to Titanic but that is not a theme.
Clint Mansell needs more love. And Springsteen too.
