This same idea applies to purity testing as well. When someone on the left says a candidate is not progressive enough, they are accused of being unrealistic in their expectations and holding everyone they disagree with to some ridiculous purity test. But when a moderate Dem says a candidate is too far to the left, well gosh darn it, they’re just being pragmatic.
