That string about GOP donors lighting money on fire versus what she’s doing is absolutely perfect.

it’s a bit different. it costs more per capita to flip an NYC district going 75% blue, than a low-population senate race. plus, keeping statewide races close has down-ballot effects. at some point you need state party viable to not allow gerrymandering go unchecked for too long. we are probably more likely to see ky flip in a statewide race in our lifetime, than some of the deep blue districts.
what you are seeing with aoc is money trying to work on her image with 20-30 year horizon, like they dis to hrc. i guess she’s not correct that it’s unstrategic, but she’s counteracting it much more effectively also.
She is also likable and authentic, unlike HRC. That helps her combat such efforts.
She also hasn’t murdered anyone.
Yet.
arkansas republicans got to hrc long before the national stage. like they got her to change her hairstyle to be more housewife, and her completely meaningless cookie recipe to just be the one from the box. looking back at it, it was the schlafly brand of misogyny.
That just shows how much of a panderer she is.

not really. it became a giant deal in the papers that she kept her name after getting married. so much so that she had to change it to HRC before one of bill’s re-election campaigns.
Some people assume they exactly understand the panderers. They KNOW that when they are pretending to support some old-fashionedness or law and order thing they are just doing what they HAVE to do in order to be viable. They also KNOW that all the things they do or say that are progressive are genuine. Lucky for these people to be so perceptive. The rest of us just are stuck needing people to be honest in order to have any faith in them.
dude i get the cynicism, i am there with you. but at least acknowledge the sexism faced by the ag’s wife in the south in the early 80’s. or if you have some insight that cookie recipes can somehow tell you authenticity, you should let someone know. or just pick an instance of actual pandering, like when the masses didn’t care about civil liberties and their senators who knew better still passed the patriot act.
I’ve seen that before but God is that a good burn.
