Good movie that was made great by the director’s cut.

I initially skipped it because I assumed it was going to be a bad revisiting of The Shining. Later I became familiar with Flanagan’s work and went back to Dr. Sleep and loved it.
Rose the Hat and her people killing that boy was incredibly unsettling. The kid was incredible in the scene but it was unnerving how good it was. Rebecca Ferguson commented on how brutal the scene was to film because the boy was so convincing.

That was a great scene!!! The actor Jacob Tremblay is an immense talent for such a young age.

My one big issue with the movie was how little they developed the new pusher. She had a great set up with how she was using her powers to punish pedophiles, and when she was first turned, it seemed like she would have an arc about her being uncomfortable with killing innocents to stay alive, but after that she has no more character development.

I felt the same way. I really wanted an alternate story that was all about her as the main character.
